Food Truck Challenge - Boston Gets Better Every Day!

We’ve been hearing for years at ONEin3 about how Boston should have more (any?) food trucks. Well, the City has heard the message and I’ll tell you right now, the food trucks are coming in hot.

Yesterday, the 6 finalists in the Boston Food Truck Challenge showed off their menus and gave away free samples on City Hall Plaza. ONEin3 was there to amateurishly document the scene.

BBQ Smith brought the noise with a pork shoulder, cannelini beans and kale concoction, and the rest followed up strong.

Bon Me‘s Vietnamese noodles were really good, but man, the twin stars of the show there were the ginger tea and their Vietnamese coffee blondie bars.

Clover Food Truck‘s vegan pea soup was amazing even for this non-vegan. Highly recommended.

Lefty’s Silver Cart had some seriously good looking sandwiches hanging out, but their pumpkin soup, olive bread and gouda cheese made up for the fact that we couldn’t chow down on sandos, so no problem there. Lefty’s is also planning to have a smoothie blending bicycle - if you blend yourself you get a discount. Score one for exercise and deals.

Momogoose‘s brown rice, portobello and asparagus, chicken tikka masala and a glorious mango salad. A+.

And last but not least, World Eats had an arrepa with pickled onion and then some other awesome bready, chicken thing plus a smoothie made of avocado.

Anyway, long story short, all 6 of these food trucks are standouts in their own right and we’re psyched Boston’s welcoming them with open arms.

If you’d like to vote in the challenge, head here and keep an eye out on the street for the winners!

If you can’t wait, you can also check out the SOWA Market on Sundays while it is still in season to sample Clover and a few more trucks.
