Hey! I’m Jessika and I’m originally from a small town in Ohio. I’m currently a senior at Boston College studying communications and pre-med. I decided to come to Boston because I fell in love with the city when I came for college visits and knew this is where I wanted to spend the next few years of my life.

I’ve been working with ONEin3 since January and have already learned so much about living and working in Boston. Working with Chloe and the council has only reinforced my love for this city and all the opportunities it has to offer.

Career-wise, I would like to go to medical school in a few years but in the long run I’d love to go into Public Health. I think that working for ONEin3 has given me valuable insights into the inner working of governance in an urban environment that I hope will be beneficial to my future career. It has also allowed me to directly impact (and hopefully improve) the lives of ONEin3ers in Boston!

As a digital media and communication intern with ONEin3, my goal is to make the ONEin3 program more visible to students entering this age group (20-34), specifically college graduates. ONEin3 has a plethora of resources from job searches to housing assistance that can directly benefit this population. Because I also happen to fall into this category, it is of  huge (potentially biased) importance to me.

In addition to managing ONEin3’s twitter, I will also be writing blogs this Spring. If there’s any issue you would like me to cover, feel free to leave a comment on this post!
