“I left my home state of California to become a staff attorney with the Boston-based Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), an organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on 
gender identity and expression, HIV status, and sexual orientation. I’ve worked on a variety of cases, including a case advocating for the fair and equal treatment of transgender people in homeless shelters, an asylum case on behalf of a prominent Ugandan LGBTI activist, and two on-going employment discrimination cases advocating for equal benefits for same-sex spouses of gay and lesbian employees. Boston has and will continue to serve as the foundation for my burgeoning civil rights legal career.”
