Meet the man behind the technology that takes the “booth” out of photobooth.

Martin Anthony Nee (just call him Marty) hails from our very own South Boston Neighborhood. With aspirations to be a businessman from his first lemonade stand in Southie, Marty took advantage of Boston’s tech ecosystem to launch Pretty Instant in 2011.

Pretty Instant is an event photography company that captures people in the moment and then instantly brands and shares the images with the world.  At the age of 27, Marty is changing the way brands and organizations connect with their target audiences.

Although Marty admits there’s something to be said for having all of your expenses (lemonade mix, ice cubes, table, etc.) covered by a third party (your parents), he maintains Boston is still the best place to launch a business even if it isn’t in your parents driveway.

“We have one of the deepest talent pools in the world and a thriving startup community.” said Marty. Based in Charlestown, Pretty Instant is currently rolling out a new strategy to help clients engage with consumers in a unique and lasting way.  Not only is Marty successful in his business life, he also plays an active role in the community through the ONEin3 Council.  Needless to say, both Marty and Pretty Instant are always on the move, find them online and look for them next time you are out on the town!

Hey! I’m Jessika and I’m originally from a small town in Ohio. I’m currently a senior at Boston College studying communications and pre-med. I decided to come to Boston because I fell in love with the city when I came for college visits and knew this is where I wanted to spend the next few years of my life.

I’ve been working with ONEin3 since January and have already learned so much about living and working in Boston. Working with Chloe and the council has only reinforced my love for this city and all the opportunities it has to offer.

Career-wise, I would like to go to medical school in a few years but in the long run I’d love to go into Public Health. I think that working for ONEin3 has given me valuable insights into the inner working of governance in an urban environment that I hope will be beneficial to my future career. It has also allowed me to directly impact (and hopefully improve) the lives of ONEin3ers in Boston!

As a digital media and communication intern with ONEin3, my goal is to make the ONEin3 program more visible to students entering this age group (20-34), specifically college graduates. ONEin3 has a plethora of resources from job searches to housing assistance that can directly benefit this population. Because I also happen to fall into this category, it is of  huge (potentially biased) importance to me.

In addition to managing ONEin3’s twitter, I will also be writing blogs this Spring. If there’s any issue you would like me to cover, feel free to leave a comment on this post!

Talk Back Boston is a panel, forum and expo event that will discuss Boston’s creative economy and entrepreneurship in order to create greater access to these fields and foster discussion.
