ONEin3 Mayor’s Advisory Council Update: Housing Edition

Hello ONEin3 Readers,

The 2010-2011 ONEin3 Mayor’s Advisory Council has been working over the last 4 months to put together meaningful problem-solving efforts that will improve life for ONEin3ers like you. Featured in today’s final update for the season: the no-nonsense Housing subcommittee!

The inspirationally driven Housing team has identified the availability of information for Boston’s renters as its key issue. Though there is some material available for renters online and through the City’s Rental Housing Resource Center, there is still good work to be done to make those resources more user-friendly, complete, and familiar to Boston’s ONEin3ers.

The Housing subcommittee has already looked through the information available through the most direct online portals, and now they are looking for additional information available to prepare a comprehensive slate of recommendations later in the year. They’re also brainstorming effective ways of communicating with our demographic and thinking about potentially useful user-generated components.

Have you found yourself in a renter’s predicament where you weren’t sure what to do or what your rights were? Is there a particular housing-related forum or other content you’d like to see? Post to the comments and help determine the shape of resources to come!
